In addition to private hospitals for prenatal checkups and baby delivery, high end facilities for postnatal care are also booming in recent years--here they are called YueZi center. What do they do and why are they gaining popularity?

Ms Chen had her baby a month ago, but she hasnt been home ever since. She chose to spend the first six weeks after giving birth at a YueZi center.

YueZi centers are specially designed to take care of new mothers in every way for six weeks after giving birth, from providing balanced meals, personal trainers, to massages and chinese medicine treatments because most Chinese believe ZuoYueZi is crucial for a new mother's health.

"Chinese all know that ZuoYueZi helps with the recovery of the body after delivery. I'm more willing to spend money on health than buying things. Also my parents and in-law are all out of town, so I dont want to bother them to take care of me. Here I get the best service and Im always in a good mood," Chen said.

Traditionally, ZuoYuezi means a new mother cannot wash her hair, drink cold beverages and go outside for six weeks ---which can be painful to endure.

Here, they have personal nanny to take care of the baby, professional cheifs to prepare every meal, enjoy group activities such as making soap with breast milk ---all without leaving the building.

Of course all of that come with a high price tag- ranging between 16 thousand US dollars to 140 thousand US dollars for just 6 weeks.

But the manager of this YueZi center says demand is going up despite the high prices.

"This year is the year of the mokey which is a popular year to have babies, together with the second child policy and higher disposable income, demand for YueZi center has gone up significantly. 95 percent of our customers are born in the 80s and 90s, and they are more open to the idea of Yuezi center," said Wu Hong, General Manager of Xin Yue Hui, Beijing.

Experts say with busier life style, more disposable income and the second child policy, postnatal care services like YueZi centers will continue its growth momentum in the coming years.
