"The organizing committee has basically finished the construction of the G20 and B20 venues, residences of Chinese and foreign leaders, as well as the rebuilding and upgrading of some related venues," said Zhao Yide, Secretary of CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee.

Zhao added that some six thousand volunteers have joined the service teams, with more than 100 foreign leaders and over 10,000 people are expected to attend dozens of events during the G20 Summit.

The theme of this year's G20 summit is "Toward an Innovative, Invigorated, Interconnected and Inclusive World Economy."

The Group of Twenty, also known as G20, is an international forum for governments and central bank governors from 20 major economies worldwide.
