Full coverage: South China Sea Is Indisputable Part of China
The Chinese Foreign Ministry has criticized some international media outlets for judging right and wrong on the South China Sea issue based on a country’s size and wealth.
Spokesperson Hua Chunying made the comment when asked about an AFP report that claimed that only small countries support China on the issue, rather than large, wealthy nations.
“China has always advocated that any country, big or small, rich or poor, should be considered equal and be respected. However, this report looks into the rights and wrongs on the South China Sea issue through the size and wealth of a country,” Hua said.
“I think such logic is ridiculous. The rights are the rights, the wrongs are the wrongs. Justice lies in the hearts. Anyone and any country without a political purpose, and aware of the specifics on the South China Sea issue will understand and support China’s stance.”
