China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi has outlined some of the progress made ahead of the forthcoming G20 summit in Hangzhou, in eastern China's Zhejiang province.

Wang said China hosting the G20 meeting comes during an important transitional period for the global economy, which presents both opportunities and challenges.

Hopes are high that G20 members will use the meeting to tackle economic problems with renewed energy. Wang said a series of ministerial meetings have taken place to prepare for the summit and to deal with the current economic situation.

Wang added that the agend of the summit had been widely praised by members as a strategic and long-term one. The G20 meetings will take place on September 4th and 5th.

"The theme of the summit will be "Toward an Innovative, Invigorated, Interconnected, and Inclusive World Economy". There are four main sections of the agenda. These are innovating economic growth, more efficient global economic governance, robust world trade and investment, and inclusive and connected development," he said.
