Iraq's parliament has reconvened after a one-month suspension due to demonstrations. On April the 30th, protesters took control of the parliament building and its surrounding areas. One Iraqi MP says he hopes the resumption of parliament will help facilitate the Fallujah military operation.

"We call on all the parties and political powers in the country, including Shiite, Sunnite, Kurds and Arabs to support the front combat operation. We stress upon the importance of such support and will continue to provide our help for the anti-terrorism forces. The situation at the Baghdad Green Zone has improved now, and resuming the parliament meeting would resolve the current domestic political differences. We want to contribute to solve the political problems," Memeber of Iraqi parliament Massoud Haider said.
