Foreign minister Wang Yi has said China welcomes and supports all efforts to ease tensions between Israel and Palestine. Wang made the remarks during the Middle East Peace Initiative Ministerial Conference in Paris. He also pushed for an early realization of a two-state solution.

"The question of Palestine is a fundamental issue to the Middle East. A lot of the chaos we see in the region can be traced back to this."

"A long time has passed but the question of Palestine has not been resolved. The question cannot be marginalized any further. The implementation of relevant UN resolutions cannot be delayed indefinitely and the peace talks between Palestine and Israel cannot be stalled. So China is attending this conference to support the just cause of the Palestinian people, the efforts by Arab countries as well as the initiatives proposed by France," he said.
