Rescuers in southwestern China are searching for 14 people still missing a day after their tourist boat capsized on a lake, killing one person. There were 18 passengers onboard the boat when the accident took place on Saturday in Sichuan province.

As for 12 o'clock this morning, four people have been rescued. But unfortunately, one of them, a child was confirmed dead shortly after being sent to the hospital.

This morning, four professional rescue teams were deployed to conduct an underwater search. The focus of today's work is to locate the whereabouts of the sunken boat. The average depth of the lake is around 70 meters. This makes locating the boat hugely difficult. And a sonar device has been employed to facilitate the search.

The three survivors are receiving further treatment at a local hospital. Two of them were rescued one hour after the accident, and the third one swam ashore and developed a fever, and was sent to hospital. Last night I visited the hospital and talked with doctors there.
