As Asia's biggest security summit, the Shangri-la Dialogue enters day two in Singapore. Admiral Sun Jianguo, deputy chief of the Joint Staff Department of China's Central Military Commission, has met with Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Tea Banh.
Sun noted that Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni is currently on a visit to China. He believes the two state leaders will reach consensus on bilateral military relations during the king's visit. And Tea Banhhas reacted to the US Secretary of Defence Ash Carter's "self-isolation" claims about China, saying it is not correct.
Earlier in the day, Carter said China is isolating itself by how it tackling issues, including the South China Sea. Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying reacted saying the claim has ignored basic facts. She also says the arbitration brought by the Philippines over the South China sea issue goes against and is an abuse of international law.
