China and the US have also held a summit to expand communication and cooperation in low-carbon city development. 27 cooperation deals have been signed. Discussions touched on reduction of carbon emissions, construction of climate resilient cities, ecological finance, as well as carbon emission trading.

Meanwhile China has also held exhibitions to display the country's efforts and achievements in low-carbon development. This is the second round of climate summit between the two countries. The first one was held in Los Angeles last September.

Officials from National Development and Reform Commission said China encourages its cities to cooperate with US cities in developing low carbon infrastructure and financing services for low carbon industries. The two countries have agreed to make full use of G20 summit later this year for deeper cooperation in the field.
