Japan: Will work closely with US to resolve tensions in East China Sea

Japan plans to work closely with the United States to resolve tensions with Beijing over China's recent patrols in the East China Sea. Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga made the announcement at a press conference on Friday.

However, Japan says it does not regard Russia's military presence near the the Diaoyu islands as a violation to international maritime law. And added it will not affect Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's planned visit to Russia in September.
