The re-sentencing for paralympic gold medalist Oscar Pistorius enters its second day today in South Africa. He is charged with murdering his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp in 2013. On Monday, a psychologist told a South African court that Pistorius was a 'broken' man who should not be jailed for the shooting and death of his girlfriend. A prosecutor however said Pistorius has shown no remorse.
The 29-year-old paralympian is facing a minimum 15-year jail term ... after his manslaughter conviction was upgraded to murder by South Africa's Supreme Court. In 2014, Pistorius initially received a five-year sentence for culpable homicide. During the first sentencing hearing, the psychologist for Pistorius said the paralympian was on medication for depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Pistorius claimed then to have mistook Steenkamp for an intruder. Pistorius is also known as the "Blade Runner" for the carbon-fiber prosthetics he wears in sport events.
