German Chancellor Angela Merkel has wrapped up her three-day visit to China. The two countries agreed to promote bilateral cooperation to a new level.

The declaration came as Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Merkel co-chaired a fourth round of bilateral consultations in Beijing.

During the talks, Li told Merkel that China will continue to deepen its structural reforms and continue to open up to provide a broader space for overseas investors. He called for joint efforts against trade protectionism to boost global economic growth. Merkel said Germany is willing to have an in-depth dialogue with China.

After the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing of more than 20 contracts in various sectors.
