Today marks UN World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought. Alongside climate change and the loss of biodiversity, desertification has been identified as one of the greatest challenges to sustainable development.

On this special day, chief of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, Monique Barbut, is in Beijing attending a series of events. She spoke to CCTVNEWS and shared some simple tips on how to protect the environment.
