Chinese FM talks with US Secretary of State

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has talked with US Secretary of State John Kerry. They spoke by telephone and exchanged views on China-US ties. Wang said the new round of Strategic and Economic Dialogues and the High-level Consultation on People-to-People and Cultural Exchanges had been successful.

He said the dialogues had created conditions for the healthy and stable development of relations between the two countries. Wang also reiterated China's stance over Tibet-related issues and urged the US not to interfere in China's domestic affairs. Kerry said the US sees Tibet as an inalienable part of China and added that the US would not support Tibet independence.
