US-China Aviation Summit to deepen cooperation in airspace management

06-22-2016 16:32 BJT

The 7th US China Aviation Summit draws to a close Wednesday. Aviation leaders from both countries say there will be more direct flights between China and the US.

Experts say as travel rights open more between China and the US, travel will be more convenient between the two countries, and ticket prices will come down.

It is estimated that China will overtake the US to become the world's largest aviation market in 10 years.

Head of US Trade and Development Agency Leocadia Zak said China and US should enhance cooperation on airspace management, air traffic flow management, and new technologies in relevant fields.

"As traffic rights open further, there would be more and more direct flights between China and US, bringing convenience to travellers from both countries. As entry level in aviation sector loosens, market competition will increase, and therefore ticket prices will come down," said Wang Zhiqing, deputy director of Civil Aviation Admin of China.
