Local hospitals in Funing county have been caught off guard by the tornado. CCTV reporter gives us a look at the condition of one of the hospitals there.

"This natural disaster has caught us all off guard. A great number of patients were flooding into the hospital, which brought great pressure to the local medical staff. But I’m quite impressed with their work," said Dr. Wu Honghao, Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital.

"Facing so many patients, they’ve identified the patients with more severe conditions and have done quite thorough check-ups on them."

Doctor Wu says he will pay special attention to the patients suffering severe injuries and may transfer them to hospitals with better facilities.
The president of the local hospital says most patients they admitted suffer trauma.

"Some patients also suffer bone fracture, craniocerebral trauma, and ruptures of internal organs. Most of them were hit by the falling parts when houses collapsed when the tornados hit," said Dr. Zuo Xuebiao, president of Funing County People’s Hospital.

Some patients with minor injures have been discharged from the hospital. Many of them have to go to the home of their next-of-kins in the city, as their houses have been damaged during the disaster.
