The 2015 High Net Worth Individual, or HNWI, report - global wealth saw only a modest growth of 4 percent, but wealth in the Asia-Pacific grew at an aggressive 10 percent, propelling the region into the lead position, surpassing North America for the first time to become the region with the largest amount of both HNWI wealth and population globally.

According to the latest World Wealth Report released today by Capgemini, in 2015, Asia-Pacific held 17.4 trillion US dollars in wealth with a 5.1 million HNWI population, in comparison to North America’s 16.6 trillion dollars in HNWI wealth and 4.8 million in population.

Japan and China stand out as regional dynamos, driving almost 60 percent of global HNWI population growth in 2015.

The report forcasts that world wealth will reach 100 trillion dollars by 2025,  primarily driven by the Asia-Pacific region.
