The British government says it will establish a new civil service unit that will be responsible for negotiating the UK's departure from the EU.

The decision came during British Prime Minister David Cameron's first cabinet meeting since the country's decision to leave the European Union on Thursday.

Cameron has announced that he would step down as prime minister by October. The former London mayor Boris Johnson who led the Leave campaign, is one of current frontrunners to replace Cameron.
