Full coverage: 2016 Rio Olympics
The start of the Rio Olympics is just over five weeks away, and Team USA has revealed its basketball roster, with the announcement taking place at a children's center in New York.
Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant have been tasked with leading the Stars and Stripes to their third straight gold, and will have the added burden of pacing a team filled with young talents, but also missing a number of big names.
The 32-year-old Anthony has been with USA Basketball since he was a teenager, and this will be his fourth trip to the Olympics.
Durant is participating in his second Games, after leading the Americans in scoring on their way to gold at London 2012.
Fresh off winning the NBA championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kyrie Irving will run the show as the USA's point guard, while seeking to add to the gold medal he won at the 2014 FIBA World Cup.
Even though much of the talk has been about the superstars who won't be in Rio like LeBron James, Steph Curry, and James Harden, the members of this squad still feel they can do something special.
