One sport the host nation of the 2016 Olympics will be expected to deliver in is the football tournament.

The men's Olympic gold is the only international soccer tournament Brazil has never won and after a disappointing time at the Copa America, the Samba boys are under pressure to restore some national pride when it comes to the beautiful game.

The squad was announced during a press conference at the country's football headquarters in Rio by coach Rogerio Micale. The 47-year-old will only take charge of the Olympic team. Former Corinthians boss Tite has been appointed on a full time basis following the sacking of Dunga this month.

A defeat to Columbia in the quarter-finals of the Copa America left the Brazilian F.A. no choice but to sack the 1994 world cup winning captain for a second time.

Traditionally football at the Olympics has been treated as a youth tournament, but senior players are available to selection, and with that in mind Barcelona star Neymar and Bayern Munich's Douglas Costa have been included in the squad of 18 that will face South Africa and Denmark in their pool games after opening against Iraq on August 7th.
