Wimbledon 2016: Djokovic beats Manarino to advance third round

World number 55 Adrian Mannarino was celebrating his 28th birthday Wednesday. His gift -- a meeting with top seed Novak Djokovic, who wasn't bearing any gifts for the Frenchman in their second round encounter.

Djoker is seeing his third consecutive Wimbledon title, opens with a 6-4 first set victory. Serving at 4-2 in the second set, he takes the point with an angled volley en route to claiming the set 6-3.

The world no.1 is also chasing his 30th straight Grand Slam victory. Serving at 4-3 in the third set, he moves closer to the mark, thanks to a brilliant backhand winner down the line. The Serb on the verge of victory.

But Mannarino breaks back in the tenth game to force a tiebreak, Nole, too much for this opponent in the extra session, as Djokovic closes out a 6-4, 6-3, 7-5 and rolls into the third round.

"Well, I have to be very grateful to have the opportunity to make history of the sport. Of course, every single record that I manage to achieve in last couple of years is important and is unique to me. Every next one that I have a possibility to achieve is motivation more. That's how I look at it," Djokovic said.

Djokovic also confirmed that he is still planning to play at this summer's Rio Games. That comes a day after the top men's golfer, Jason Day decided to skip the event over concerns about the Zika Virus. Djoker says he will make a final decision when he has more information about the current situation.

"Well, I've been getting more and more information about it honestly. Last few days I've been trying to reach out to as many Brazilian friends and acquaintances that I have, get as much information. When I do get more." Djokovic said
