Senior officials from the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region have met in Beijing for consultations on enhancing a two-way reporting mechanism launched in 2001.
State Counselor and Chinese Public Security Minister Guo Shengkun said that the Chinese Mainland and police from Hong Kong have had effective cooperation on legal enforcement.
Guo also urged the two sides to fully implement the "One Country, Two Systems" policy and to further improve the two-way reporting mechanism so as to better protect the people's interests.
