The British public inquiry into the nation's role in the 2003 Iraq War has published their 2.8 million word report. Sir John Chilcot, who led the inquiry, said Britain's plans for managing the Iraqi occupation following the 2003 invasion were "wholly inadequate".

Launched in 2009, the inquiry considers Britain's involvement in Iraq between mid-2001 and July 2009. It aims to establish the way decisions were made, and examine the actions taken. Former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair -- who has been accused of misleading the country into the war -- is expected to face severe criticism.
