A look at the real Tibet—for many, this will be their first visit to the “Roof of the World.” The first stop is Jokhang Temple, a Tibetan Buddhist site.

“I was here first six years ago, and I think conditions have been improving a lot in six years. And I think that this is the only way for Tibet to make progress in their living conditions and also in culture,” said Rita Francesca Fatiguso, Il Sole 24 Ore, Italy.

Lhokha City was the first to conduct a land reform in 1959. The serfdom system was abolished that same year, marking a new beginning for the region's development.

“The important thing at the end of the day is development, and that people can be, you know, start to have more prosperity, and prosperity. That’s the fact, at the end of the day, that really counts in the people’s lives,” said Javier Vega Camargo, Mexican Chamber of Deputies.

The delegation also visited a relocation complex at Qushui County in Lhasa. Villagers, mostly suffering from poverty, have been provided with free housing and job opportunities.

“I can see how hard their living environment used to be. Because of these project, they actually have a better living environment. I think if that’s the project the government the government is doing, i think this is a good project. I hope this can apply to more people,” said Tsaii Chiu-an, executive VP of Fox Networks Group.

The upcoming forum is the second of its kind since its inauguration in 2014. It will gather more than 130 delegates, with over half of them from overseas. They are expected to provide suggestions for Tibet’s future development.
