Russia, Brexit loom over NATO summit

NATO leaders meet for a landmark summit in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. They will discuss the fallout from Britain's vote to quit the European Union. They will also approve rotating four battalions in eastern Europe -- in Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Russia bitterly opposes NATO's expansion, saying it's a threat to the country's security. Earlier, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said NATO will seek constructive dialogue with Russia and does not want a repeat of the Cold War.

Snipers operating from rooftops in Dallas killed five police officers and wounded six more on Thursday night. It was a coordinated attack during one of several protests across the country against the killing of two black men by police this week. Police described the ambush as carefully planned and executed.

Three people have been taken into custody. A fourth suspect had exchanged gunfire with police before dying from what Dallas-based media said was a self-inflicted gunshot Friday morning.

Suspended President of the Chamber of Deputies in Brazil, Eduardo Cunha formally resigned on Thursday but will remain a deputy. Cunha was suspended in May by the Supreme Court due to corruption charges.  Cunha initiated the impeachment process of President Dilma Rousseff in December, declaring himself her enemy.
