The Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte says the US invasion of Iraq had no legal basis. He says US should take responsibility for terrorist attacks in the Middle East. At a press conference on Monday, China's Foreign Ministry said foreign interference in Iraq under the name of maintaining international order is a violation of international law.

"We are aware of the statements made by President Duterte and the international community's response regarding the war. The Iraq War is a lesson to be learned by all. After the Cold War, many countries have interfered in the internal affairs of the Middle East in the name of the international community and under the pretence of maintaining international order. This in itself is a violation of the UN Charter and international law, and is against the will of the international community. Such interference has left deep scars in the region. Countries in the Asia Pacific are unwilling to see a recurrence of such interference in their own region, and are unwilling to see their peace and stability disrupted," said Lu Kang, spokesman of Chinese Foreign Ministry.
