Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has called on all member nations at the Asia-Europe Meeting -- or ASEM -- to work together to promote dialogue and build a more prosperous and peaceful Eurasia. Li said that cooperation between Asia and Europe has already reached an unprecedented level. China is Europe's largest trade partner. Two-way trade amounted to nearly US$700 billion in 2015.

Li said Asia and Europe, enjoy broad prospects for further development and cooperation, given their economic diversity, abundant natural resources and huge market potential. He urged all sides to abide by the ASEM consensus -- founded on the principles of mutual respect and friendly consultation. He highlighted an innovative approach to Asia-European cooperation, and called on all parties to work towards a community of common destiny that can effectively cope with regional challenges, prevent turmoil, and safeguard world peace and stability.
