A dike has been breached in eastern Hubei Province, causing massive floods in a township along the Yangtze River.

8,000 people from Huang Mei County have been evacuated from their homes.

The breach happened early Sunday morning, and 800 military personnel have been working to seal the breach since.

The flood is pushing close to the Beijing-Hong Kong railway which runs through the county. Local emergency workers are rushing to set up sandbags near the rail route to prevent flooding.
