The Asian Development Bank has lowered its 2016 growth forecast for developing Asia, which groups 45 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

The ADB says it now expects Developing Asia to expand 5.6 percent this year, 0.1 percentage points lower than in its March forecast. The ADB cited the slowing U.S. economy and near-term shocks from Britain's decision to leave the European Union for its downgrade.

At the same time, the ADB said it thinks China remains on track to grow 6.5 percent this year. The ADB also expects China's efforts to cut excess industrial capacity to weigh on growth next year.
