Last time, the "Ice Age" clan was literally torn apart by a continental drift. In the new, fifth installment of the blockbusting 'toon franchise, the Earth is on a collision course with a meteor. The film is already on show in a number of countries, and is going to meet its Chinese audience next month.

Like the very asteroid that is hurtling towards Earth in the movie, "Ice Age: Collision Course" is chunky, clunky and bulky.

Unlike the asteroid, the film seems to move at a glacial pace.

In the new, fifth installment of the blockbusting 'toon franchise, the Earth is on a collision course with a meteor.

"Oh boy, it's just another milestone in the life of the family of the Manny and Ellies. What's our last name? Do we have a last name? But the big issue is the daughter is getting married. So that's the real identifiable issue. And then, of course, the big event is their world may end because of a meteor, because of Scrat. Scrat and the acorn does his thing," said Ray Romano, actor.

Most of the other "Ice Age" principals are back, too, including actor John Leguizamo as Sid, the sloth, and Wanda Sykes as old grand sloth Granny.

"I remember growing up and my great-grandmother was alive and she was so funny because she would just say anything that came to her mind - no care about if it hurt your feelings or not. As a kid, I loved watching her, because she would say things to my mother and I was like, 'Oh, I so wish I could say to my mother. Thank you.' So it was a joy to be able to play my great-grandmother," said Wanda Sykes, actress.

"I love (part) five. I watched it the other night and I was cracking up. I was laughing at what Wanda was doing and seeing her hook up at the end was great. I got to hook up. It's a hook up for everybody," said John Leguizamo, actor.

The new chapter is going to meet its Chinese audience at the end of August.
