Members of Afghanistan's Hazara minority have begun burials for the more than 80 people that were killed in Saturday's suicide attack in Kabul claimed by ISIL jihadists.

No mass funeral was held as large assemblies have been banned for security reasons. The Saturday attack, against a Hazara demonstration over the route of a power transmission line, was among the worst in Afghanistan since 2001.

President Ashraf Ghani has announced a day of mourning. On Sunday, the Defense Ministry said that 49 ISIL militants were killed in the last 24 hours in various military operations across Afghanistan. However, a rocket was reported to have hit central Kabul.
