China & Russia navies to hold drills in South China Sea

China and Russia will hold routine naval exercises in the South China Sea in September.

The Chinese Defense Minstry said the drills are aimed at strengthening the China-Russia strategic cooperative partnership, and were not intended to provoke any other country. Last year, they held joint military drills in the Sea of Japan and the Mediterranean.
