In the International Champions Cup, Paris St. Germain faced Real Madrid in Ohio. The French champs need to try and replace the incomparable Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who now plies his trade for Manchester United. But in his absence, youngster Thomas Meunier would step up against the European champs, who were also missing stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale after a lengthy Euro 2016 campaign for both.

Things start off really well for the French club, as Parisian youngster Jonathan Ikone weaves his way past several Los Blancos defenders to coolly slot the ball home in the second minute, before being mounted by his teammates.

About a half-hour later, PSG are on the attack again. Real look to clear the ball, but it's intercepted by Meunier whose wonderful strike from about 25 yards out finds the top corner to make it 2-nil, and more mounting.

Right before the break, the French side are on the attack again, a nice little 1-2 puts Meunier in the clear, the Belgian looks to square the ball, but gets it right back and he says thank you very much before scoring his second of the night. Real would add a penalty late in the half, but Meunier's brace gives his side a 3-1 win, their second straight at the tournament.

In other action -- Bayern fell behind 3-1 to AC milan, but scored two goals including a penalty in the 90th minute by Franck Ribery to force a shootout in which they fell to the Italian. Gary Cahill scored the only goal in Chelsea's win over Liverpool. Later tonight, Manchester City plays Dortmund in the Chinese city ofShenzen. This will be City's first game of the tournament after the Manchester derby was cancelled in Beijing because heavy rain made the pitch unplayable. And Tottenham and Atletico Madrid also play -- that match to be in Melbourne.
