The fight against drug trafficking is among the priorities of many Asian countries.

In China, convicted drug makers, sellers, and smugglers are sentenced to at least 15 years imprisonment and death penalty at the most.

Indonesia's drug laws prescribe death penalty for narcotics trafficking.

The Philippines has imposed a moratorium on death penalty, but drug offenders are still punished harshly if caught, with at least 12 years imprisonment.

In Singapore, people caught with 14 grams of heroin, 28 grams of morphine or cocaine, or 480 grams of marijuana would face a mandatory death penalty.
