The People's Liberation Army has sent a delegation of 22 task teams to participate in the ongoing International Army Games 2016. The event takes place in Russia and Kazakhstan from July 30th to August 13th.

This year’s Games includes a number of competition events including 17 contests for the Army, 3 for the Air Force and 2 for the Navy. The competitions cover battlefield situations that troops may encounter in real operations, and require participants to display military skill, physical fitness, and battlefield tactics as well as developing individual and team skills.

China currently ranks second on the list of countries behind Russia in the number of task teams participating.
