Eastern China's scenic city of Hangzhou is gearing up to host the country's first-ever G20 Summit in September. Leaders from the world's 20 biggest economies will gather, and the host city is determined to do things in style. The Hangzhou city government has taken a series of measures including a ban on high-polluting vehicles and flying objects such as drones.

Large-scale factories will be closed temporarily.  And construction projects across the city are set to close ahead of the summit. Authorities say they are wrapping up nearly 700 renovation projects on expressways and water infrastructures. Residents will enjoy an official one-week company holiday, starting from September 1st.  In fact, they're encouraged to leave town. The government is spending up to 10 billion yuan or 1-and-a-half billion US dollars on this, offering free travel vouchers to some of China's most popular tourist sights.
