Lin Dan overpowers Obernosterer 21-5, 21-11 on badminton court

In badminton Chinese super star Lin Dan, is looking for his third-consecutive Olympic gold medal. The champion would begin his quest against Austria's David Obernosterer.

The man known as Super Dan, would be in top form in his opening match. The 2008, and 2012 champion breezed past his opponent 21-5, 21-11 in 36 minutes, in his group E encounter.

The man Lin Dan beat to get those two titles, Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei, was barely tested in his 21-2, 21-3 rout of Suriname's Soren Opti in Group A. 

Also in men's singles, China's Chen Long overpowers Niluka Karunaratne in straight sets. And on the women's side, China's Wang Yihan and Li Xuerui all win their opening matches in straight games.
