Chinese scientists have received the first batch of data from the world's first quantum satellite, which was launched Tuesday. Two-hundred and two megabytes of data were received in good quality Thursday and were transferred to China’s National Space Science Center.

Nicknamed “Micius” after a fifth century B.C. Chinese philosopher and scientist, the satellite will circle Earth once every 90 minutes. In its two-year mission, the satellite will try to establish “hack-proof” communications by transmitting uncrackable keys from space.
