Typhoon Dianmu is expected to make its second landfall in Vietnam this afternoon, after it hit south China's coastal province of Guangdong on Thursday evening.
The eighth typhoon of the year brought heavy rainfall to the province, with some parts seeing as much as 300 millimetres of rain. Its force was relatively weak in the northeastern region and barely affected some of the major cities. Thousands were temporarily relocated and will return home once the winds subside. No casualties have been reported so far.
