China has created the 'Chinese mode' of human organ donation. This reflects the country's reform on regulations, systems, and standards on organ transplantation. In 2007, China issued its "human organ transplant regulation," with more than 30 supporting documents providing legal safeguards for organ transplant and donation procedures.

And to ensure fairness, China launched "COTRS," its response system to allocate organs equitably and transparently. The country's health, police, and transportation authorities also jointly established a "green passage" to ensure the quick and safe transfer of donated human organs. Statistics show there have been a significant increase of organ donations. Authorities recorded nearly three thousand organ donation cases in 2015, exceeding the total number of 2013 and 2014. The annual average number of organ donation in China ranks first in Asia and third around the world.
