Chen Long claims gold in men's badminton

On the penultimate day of the 2016 Games, China won three more gold medals. In the men’s badminton, Chen Long stepped out of compatriot Lin Dan’s shadow and spoiled Malaysian Lee Chong Wei’s hopes of a golden Olympics.

In diving, Chen Aisen claimed gold in the men’s 10-meter platform, with Mexico’s German Sanchez getting silver and American David Boudia taking bronze. It compounded China’s dominance in the sport, winning seven of the eight diving medals on offer at the Games.

China’s Zheng Shuyin won gold in women’s Taekwondo, following her boyfriend Zhao Shuai who also won gold in men’s match.
