Foreign ministers from China, Japan and South Korea will meet in Tokyo on August 24 to discuss how they can cooperate further, as well as exchange views on regional and international issues.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang said they will also review and discuss the future of their relations.

“This is a routine, annual trilateral meeting on cooperation issues. We expect cooperation between China, Japan and South Korea to continue to make progress after this meeting, enhancing integration in East Asia,” Lu said.

“Also, efforts should be made to achieve the goal of an integrated economic zone in this region in 2020, and to further contribute to regional peace, development and prosperity.”
