In Olympic news, 15 weightlifters, including three from China, have been caught for doping in retests of samples from the 2008 Beijing Games.

The Chinese Weightlifting Association said it was shocked by the positive results of Cao Lei, Chen Xiexia, and Liu Chunhong, who all won gold at the Olympics.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the CWA said it will cooperate with the International Weightlifting Federation in the investigation, and reiterated its stance of zero-tolerance on doping.

Earlier in the day, the IWF stated that 15 lifters, including 11 medal winners from the 2008 Beijing Olympics, have failed retests of their samples.

The IWF statement also said that in accordance with relevant rules and regulations, the IWF has imposed mandatory provisional bans upon the athletes, who will remain suspended until their cases are closed.
