Ministers agree to strengthen political trust

Foreign ministers from China, Japan, and South Korea met for talks in Tokyo on Wednesday, and agreed to strengthen political trust and cooperation. Spokesperson for China's Foreign Ministry, Lu Kang, said that China's participation amid regional tensions showed its willingness to improve relations.

"During the meeting, Japan and South Korea all expressed that they hope the forthcoming G20 summit hosted by China in Hangzhou could bring in strong impetus to world economy, also provide some positive elements to improve relations among countries."

"China hopes three countries could face up to the history for the future. Then joint efforts could be made to overcome difficulties and eliminate disturbance in this trilateral relationship, as well as to accumulate consensus and enhance cooperation. Special focus should be paid in politics, trade and economy, cultural exchanges, and sustainable development to further development the trilateral relationship," Lu Kang said.
