Pellegrini is the latest big name coach to make his way to China, joining Luis Felipe Scolari, Sven Goran-Eriksson, and Marcello Lippi to name just three. But lets look back at some of Pellegrini's other managerial roles.

The Chilean has been coaching for more than two decades, but started to gain notoriety in the last decade or so. In 2004 took charge of Spanish side Villarreal, he spent five seasons there, before moving on to overseee things at Real Madrid. He was on the touchline, when the club brought in Cristiano Ronaldo from Man united, for what was then a record transfer fee.

He could never bring a Champions League title to the Bernabeau, and was quickly jettisoned and landed on his feet with La Liga club Malaga. He was there for three seasons, before he took over at the Emirates, which was most succesful stint as a coach, winning one League title and two league cups with Man City.
