The G20 summit kicks off in just a few days. More than 30 agreements are expected to be signed this year, in a wide range of areas -- including macro economic policy coordination, energy, employment, and climate change. China wants to put innovation at the top of the summit's agenda.

"China has made a historic move to prioritize innovation on this summit's agenda," said Li Baodong, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister.

"This is a signal that the G20 has started transforming itself from a mechanism to solve short-term crisis into a mechanism that creates long-term solutions. China is playing a leading role in this transformation."
