Senegalese President Macky Sall is one of four African leaders attending the G20 summit. He says the event will help the continent's development.

"It involves topics that are important to Africa in the fields of international financial governance and trade, and economic growth based on technical innovation and investments," Sall said.

"Africa needs investments and partners. But Africa is not just looking for assistance. That alone can't promote the continent's development. Africa needs to build mutually beneficial partnerships so people, businesses and governments are able to get what they need for their long-term development," Sall said.

Sall was speaking to CCTV in the Senegalese capital Dakar. He chairs the New Partnership for Africa's Development, an economic development program of the African Union.  Sall thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping for the invitation to the G20 summit. He also praised China for its financial support to Africa. The Senegalese president says that as a representative of Africa, he will ask other attendees to pay greater attention to the continent and contribute to its development.
