2018 World Cup: China faces South Korea in Group A opener September 1

As the Chinese men's national team are now in South Korea ahead of their big match this Thursday, the PRC have concluded their training, and will begin the latest phase of their World Cup qualifying campaign with that match.

The team left the Seoul airport and took a bus to the hotel, arrived late Monday night, many Chinese fans greeted the players seeking autographs. The Chinese national team will hold two more practices before they face the Taeguk Warriors on September first. The top two sides in each group in this portion of Asian qualifying will earn direct berths to the World Cup.

And Asian qualifying kicks off Thursday. Also playing in group -- Iran host Qatar, while Uzbekistan face off against Syria. Over in group B, the Aussies will take on Iraq,  Japan meet the UAE, and Saudi Arabia play against Thailand.
