According to South Korea's Yonhap news agency, the DPRK has carried out the execution of a vice premier. The news agency quotes an official from Seoul's unification ministry, saying the DPRK executed the 63-year-old Kim Yong-jin by firing squad last month.

The official also said the DPRK sent Kim Yong-chol, the head of the United Front Department, to a rural farm for one month of re-education in mid-July.
