China says it will work with all sides to ensure a positive outcome at the G20 summit, which opens in Hangzhou on Sunday. At a press conference on Tuesday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying responded to a report that some world powers intend to challenge China during the summit on global and regional issues. She said all G20 members have pledged full support for China hosting the event.

"G20 members, including the US, Britain, Canada and Japan, have all kept in close contact with China at various levels over the G20 summit. They all say they will fully support China and help ensure the summit is a success. China is willing to work with all parties to make contributions to support global economic growth and improve global economic governance. We hope and believe participants can live up to this task and play a positive and constructive role," Hua said.
